Sharon Hayes Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator

My photo
Hi stampers and crafters. I currently live in Greensboro, North Carolina although, I'm an Atlanta native. I am married, have two children and one grandchild. I love all things animal (we've) had many during our time here). I have been crafting with StampinUp! products for 21 years. I also love to make wreaths, sew, diamond paint, design custom vinyl transfer apparel and build dollhouses. I love to read and swim also. I love the beach and the mountains. Often, I'll bring my crafting supplies along on vacations, etc. Stamping and crafting is very relaxing and cathardic for me and I enjoy seeing what I can make with StampinUp!'s perfectly coordinated products.

A Child Is Born Ornament Card

I really love this nativity image of A Child Is Born.  It is a beautiful image of the God child and the reason we Celebrate Christmas.  I intend to make a real ornament of this image to hang on my tree but for now, it will be on this card.

Begin by cutting an 8.5"x11" Cherry Cobbler sheet in half and fold to make a card base.  Cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet to measure 5. 1/4"x4". Next, cut a piece of the Cherry Cobbler Season of Elegance to 5" x3 7/8".  Adhere the Gold Foil Panel to the card base. Adhere the Season of Elegance DSP to the gold foil panel.  Stamp the nativity image in Versamark ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. Heat emboss the image with Gold embossing powder.  Color the image any way you wish with Stampin' Blends.  I used Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate and Bronze and Ivory combo. Die cut the image with the Spotlight On Nature Dies. Die cut a half inch round circle and pierce a small hole in the top.  Heat emboss the O holy night image and fussy cut around it.  Die cut the matching labels from the Stylish Shapes Dies Set. The smaller one will be Cut from Cherry Cobble Cardstock and the larger one will be cut from a Gold Foil Sheet. Layer these as shown.  Die cut four long branches from the Christmas Greenery Dies in Garden Green Cardstock.  After cutting and coloring the image you may want to place a circular window sheet on top, but this step is not necessary.  Adhere the branches to the back of the nativity image as shown. Adhere the small gold circle just under the top of the ornament as shown.  Lastly, adhere a bow to the top of the ornament.  The bow can be red, gold, cording, or anything you like. Your card is finished!
